How the ranking works
Each crop is scored with profit = value per harvest × harvests left − seed cost,
divided by 28 days for a per-day figure. Harvest count depends on your current day:
single-harvest crops need their full growth time remaining; regrow crops get
1 + floor((days left − growth) ÷ regrow). Crops that cannot finish are excluded.
Processed view uses keg wine (×3 fruit / ×2.25 veg), jar jelly/pickles (×2 + 50) and special keg items (hops→pale ale, wheat→beer, coffee), see the methodology page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the most profitable crop in Stardew Valley?
It depends on your days left and whether you process. Over a full season: ancient fruit and starfruit lead for wine-focused farms; pumpkins and cranberries dominate fall raw; coffee is special (fast regrow, quick coffee). The finder ranks everything for YOUR current day and view, which is why the answer changes.
Why do crops that cannot finish get excluded?
A crop that will not reach its first harvest before the season ends is a total loss (seeds do not refund). The finder filters those out by default so every row is actually plantable today.
Should I pick the top crop or something else?
Gold per day is the default goal, but consider: processing capacity (a top raw crop may bottleneck your kegs), trellis handling (green beans/hops/grape cannot be walked through), and multi-season survivors (corn, wheat, sunflower carry into fall). The notes column flags these.
