Frequently asked questions

How is gold per day calculated?

Profit = (sell price × items per harvest × harvests) − seed cost, divided by the 28 days of a season. Harvests depend on your planting day: regrowing crops give 1 + floor((days left − growth days) ÷ regrow days). The calculator applies this exactly and shows every input.

Why does my result differ from other spreadsheets?

Three common reasons: (1) they subtract seed cost once vs per harvest; (2) they count harvests from day 1 regardless of when you actually plant; (3) they include multi-yield bonuses (we add them where the wiki documents a fixed average like potato ×1.25). Ours documents all assumptions on the methodology page.

Should I process everything in kegs?

If you have keg capacity idle: yes for most crops, wine is 3× fruit base and jelly is 2×+50, both with only time as extra cost. But kegs are limited; the tool shows the processed value so you can prioritise the highest-gain crops first.

What about Speed-Gro and fertilizer?

Speed-Gro changes growth timing (10–33% faster), which the harvest-count math turns into more harvests in some cases. Quality fertilizer shifts the quality mix; both effects are documented on the wiki and are planned as toggles in a future update (see changelog).

Are giant crops or extra-yield chances included?

Extra-yield averages documented by the wiki (potato, blueberry, cranberry, etc.) are listed in the crop notes and included in the math where a fixed average exists. Giant crops (Cauliflower/Melon/Pumpkin) are a 1% daily 3×3 chance and are noted, not averaged in.

Which crops can I still plant right now?

Set the planting day to your current in-season day; the calculator marks crops that cannot finish (0 harvests) and shows the ranking of everything that can. For a pure "what do I plant today" list use the best crop finder.
